Basic Support | User Editable ePublications
- What types of ePublications can be custom made?
- There really isn't anything that an ePublication can't be. Brochures, calendars, novels, newsletters, portfolios, business cards, resumes, even a birthday card for your mommy can be developed into an ePublication. ePublication are the perfect solution for all your business and personal needs. If you can "see" it, we can "e" it.
- What is the minimum & maximum number of pages my ePublication can be?
- We do have a 4 page minimum, however there is no maximum number of pages that can be in an ePublication. Keep in mind that the more pages you have the bigger your final file size will be, especially if you have a large number of images or multimedia files. (Note: A "Page" refers to a 2 page spread...left and right side of the visible page. Front and back cover, together count as 1 page.)
- What are the screen sizes of ePublications that can be produced?
- We can develop your ePublication in whatever size you desire. It can be as small as a business card or it can fill your screen. We have found that the most common monitor resolution used is 1024 x 768 so, to accomodate the most users, we try to design to nicely fit this resolution unless otherwise requested.
- Are ePublications Apple Mac compatible?
- With our regret, our ePublications are not Mac compatible except via Virtual PC or an equivalent. There are plans for a Mac compatible reader in a future update. Until then, why not use DNL for your Windows users and PDF for your Mac users??? Don't forget to sign up for our Newsletter to be informed of the Mac reader release, as well as all other updates and new features.
- Do you offer PDF versions of ePublications for my Mac users?
- PDF versions of ePublications is not our focus. However, if we are doing an ePublication in DNL or EXE format for you, we are capable and willing to also publish the same ePublication in the PDF format for you as well. (Additional charges will apply.) Just be aware that the 3D page turning and other unique features of the DNL format is not available in the PDF format.
- Can my ePublication be password protected?
- Yes. However, passwords must be set by us and once set cannot be changed or password protection disabled.
- What are the features available in an ePublication
- We have a number of unique features available for your ePublication. Please click Here to view them.
- Which features can be implemented in a company brochure or newsletter?
- It doesn't matter what your ePublication is or how it is used, any of the available features can be implemented in it. Or all of them if you wish.
- I would like a Digital Catalog produced. Is it possible to implement a shopping cart in my catalog?
- Yes and no. While we hope to add this ability in a future upgrade, at this time an actual shopping cart can not be included within the catalog. However, if your website includes a shopping cart, we can design a catalog showing your products, details, and prices with links to your website shopping cart. So when a customer clicks on a purchase button within your eCatalog it will open your websites shopping cart page with that product added to your shopping cart. They can go back and forth between your eCatalog and your shopping cart to add more products then will check out in your websites shopping cart.
- Do I need a website to distribute my ePublication?
- No. Distribution of your ePublication can be accomplished a number of ways. For those without a website we offer affordable hosting of ePublications custom made by or purchased through Southpaw Kreative. Read more about this service on our Digital Hosting page. ePublications may also be distributed via email or a cd-rom.
- Do you offer hosting services?
- Yes we do. We offer two types of hosting services applicable to our ePublications. Read more about them on our Digital Hosting page and our Video Hosting pages.
- What is your production time for an ePublication?
- We will do our best to work with your timeline needs. If this is not an issue, production time depends on your project. If you have approved the work order and we have everything we need to produce your ePublication, we can have an initial proof ready for you usually within three days. Upon approval of the proof we can have your final project ready in another day or two. Depending on our workload and the extent of a project, we don't see any publication taking any longer than 7 to 10 days.
- What is the cost of a custom made ePublication?
- The price of a custom made ePublication is dependant on your project, content, features, etc. Please click Here, tell us a little about your project and we will be more than happy to give you a quote. Rest assured that with all the costs associated with traditional print media, ePublications are very affordable for any size business.
- Can I get receive my ePublication on a CD?
- Of course you can. If you would like, we can set up an auto-run cd which will first install the reader and then open your ePublication when the cd is inserted in a cd drive. Also, we can set it up to put a shortcut to your ePublication on your users desktop as well as in their start menu. Your company may then make as many copies of the cd as you require. (Additional fee applies for production of cd and installation program)
- What do you need from me to get started?
- Once your requirements and desires are determined and a work order is approved by you, your content is all we need to get started on your project. Please read more about content needed and the formats required on our ePublication Development page.
- What if next month I need changes made to my ePublication?
- No problem. We can make changes to 1 page or all your pages. You only pay for the page/pages you need changed instead of the entire ePublication again. The fee for changes depend on the specific changes you need made. A simple change of a website or email address would be minimal where a full redo of a page would be the same as having the page produced originally.
