Using The Editable Text Feature:
Editable Text
Editable text fields allows you to enter text directly in the ePublication. Using the editable text feature within an ePublications is easy, just point, click and type. This page will explain the links and their functions for using editable text fields in a ePublication.
(Note) A "Page" refers to a 2 page spread...left and right side of the visible page that's open in an ePublication.
The following links could be shown as text or a button on an ePublication page.
- Edit
Clicking on the "Edit" link will reveal thin black lines outlining the area or areas where you can enter or modify your text. Click inside the outlined box that you want to edit and simply type in your text.
(Note) While you are in the "Edit" mode you will not be able to turn the pages.
- View or Preview
Clicking the "View" link hides the thin black lines that reveals the editable areas and allows you to resume page turning.
- Save
Clicking the "Save" link enables you to save the text that you have entered. After saving your text, you may continue to enter or change the text as often as desired via the "Edit" link.
Locking Options
The following options are accessed via the right-click menu while in the "Edit" mode. After you have finished editing your text and before you click on the "View" link, position your mouse in an editable text field and click your right mouse button to bring up these options.
IMPORTANT!!! The following actions are Permanent! If you LOCK one of these areas, no further editing will be possible in that area and all links pertaining to editing will be removed. Make sure that you are happy with your text before locking it.
- Lock Text
This option will LOCK the text in a specific editable text field.
(Example) There are 2 editable text fields on the page. You want to lock only 1 of them and leave the other to still be editable... Once you have your text in the field that you want to lock, make sure your mouse cursor is over that specific field, right-click and then click on "Lock Text". This leaves the other editable text field still editable.
- Page Lock (Page Option)
This option will LOCK all editable text fields on the entire visible page spread and all links pertaing to editing on that page will be removed.
- Book Lock (Book Option)
This option will LOCK the entire ePublication and all links pertaining to editing will be removed.
