Basic Support | Custom Made ePublications

Can I change the file name of my ePublication?
Yes. It is best if you make a copy of the original un-edited ePublication and re-name the copy so that you still have the original for backup if you need it. When re-naming the copy be sure that you don't change or delete the file extension, eg; .dnl, as doing so will prevent the re-named ePublication from opening.

Can I still edit my ePublication after saving my changes?
Of course! Saving your changes is not a permanent action. You can change and save images and or text as often as you like. Only when you lock the page or the entire ePublication does further editing become impossible.
Can I copy and paste images into my ePublication?
Yes! Copying and pasting images from websites, etc into your ePublication is easy. Please visit our Editable Images page for more information.
What is an editable ePublication?
An editable ePublication is one that allow you to enter text and insert images in the given fields as well as the ability to add notes and highlights. Please visit our User Resources section for information on using the editable features.
I inserted my image but now my pages won't turn. What happened?
Once you have inserted your image you must click on the "View or Preview" button or link to enable further page turning. Please see our Editable Images page for more information.
Can I use my ePublication on the CD that you sent me?
You may view and edit your ePublication on the CD however any changes that you make will not be saved to the ePublication while it's on the CD. Files written to the CD are read-only so you must copy the ePublication to your computers hard drive to be able to save changes made.
What happens if I click the "Lock" button in my editable ePublication?
There are different "locking" option within an ePublication. You can lock a single page or you can lock the entire ePublication. Locking is PERMANENT and will prevent further editing of the page or ePublication depending on your locking option. Locking is IRREVERSIBLE! How can I make the images I insert fit right and look good?
There are tools within the ePublication to help you with this. Please visit the Editable Images page for help with using these tools.
What type of image files can I insert in my editable ePublication?
Only .bmp, non-interlaced .gif, and .jpg image formats can be inserted in ePublications. Be aware that if you insert a .bmp image it will automatically be converted to a .jpg format.
Can I order a custom made ePublication?

What skills are needed to edit an ePublication?
No special skills are required to edit your ePublication. In short, simply click on the edit link on the page you want to edit to insert your image and text. Complete help with editable feature can be found in our User Resources section.
Can I change the page layout of the images in an ePublication?
In a few of the ePhoto Albums this is possible. However, in ones that have static picture frames or photo corners changing the page layout is not possible.
What is the final file size of an ePublication after editing?
The final file size of your ePublication depends on the size of the images you insert. The use of the tools provided when you insert your images, such as optimization and trimming, will help to reduce the file size of your images thus reducing the file size of your ePublication. Can I change the name of my ePublication file?
Absolutely! It is best if you make a copy of the original ePublication file and rename the copy to use. This is not necessary, but if you make a mistake and have locked your ePublication then you will still have the original.
Can I change the size of my ePublication?
No. The sizes of the ePublications are set when they are designed and cannot be changed. If you need a specific size, we will be happy to work with you on a custom made ePublication to fit your needs. Click Here for a quote.
Can I share my ePublication with friends and family after I finish editing it?
Of course you can. Once you have finished editing your ePublication be sure to lock it so that it can't be edited by others, unless of course you want them to. Now right click anywhere on a page in your ePublication and from the menu select "sendmail", insert the recipients email and your message, then click send. The ePublication will then send itself as an attachment to your recipient.

Note: The recipients of your ePublication must have Outlook or Outlook Express as their default email client to receive the ePublication.
Are editable ePublications available in the EXE format?
No. ePublications which have editable text and or image fields are available only in the DNL format and requires the DNL reader to be installed.
Can I get my ePublication on a CD instead of downloading it?
Yes, for an additional fee we will be happy to send you an auto-run CD-Rom. The CD will include the DNL Reader which will auto install, your ePublication and the User Guide.
