Using The Highlighter Feature:

Highlight ePublication Text
The highlighter function is fun and easy to use. Highlight specific lines of text, paragraphs, or an entire page. Customize the size, color and opacity to make your highlights your own...try that on paper with a single highlighter.

How To Highlight In Your ePublication

To access the highlighter right-click anywhere on the ePublication to bring up a user menu then left-click on "Highlight"

Once you have accessed the highlighter via the right-click menu your mouse will turn to an arrow with a highlighter pen. Simply hold down the left mouse button then click and drag across desired text to highlight and then release button. Cool huh?

(Hint) Once you have added your highlight you may move it to another location on the same page by dragging it with your mouse to the desired location. You may also change it's size by clicking the squares that surround the highlight and adjusting it to fit your needs.

Once you have your highlight placed, right-click on the highlight for more options. These options include selecting a color for your highlight, changing the opacity, locking and unlocking it's position or deleting it.

More Highlights Options
The following options can be accessed by the right-click menu as discussed above, and then Highlights.
  • Save All Changes/Highlights
This saves all the highlights that you've added and customized to the ePublication.

  • Export Highlights To DNN File
This exports the highlights from the ePublication as a DNN file. You can send this DNN file to another person with the same ePublication and they can import your highlights into their copy of the ePublication.

  • Import Highlights From DNN File
This imports highlights from a DNN file into your ePublication and merges them with your existing highlights. The DNN files must have come from a copy of the same ePublication as the one you are importing them in to.

  • Send Highlights By Email
This sends the DNN highlight file as an email. Once you, or the person you sent it to has received the DNN file by email, just save it from the email to somewhere on your computer and then import it using the import function above.

(Note) In order to use this feature you must have Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express installed on your computer.

  • Delete Highlights On This Page
This deletes all highlights from the current page. You can also delete individual highlights by right-clicking on the highlight and then delete.

(Note) A "Page" refers to a 2 page spread...left and right side of the visible page that's open in an ePublication.

  • Delete All Highlights In This Book
Deletes all highlights from the ePublication.
