Using The Notes Feature:

Sticky Notes
Sticky notes are a great way to add your own comments or notes to an ePublication. You can add as many notes as you desire, with several options to customize each one. This page will show you how fun and easy it is to use sticky notes.

How To Add A Note
There are 2 methods of adding a note to an ePublication...

1. If your ePublication includes a navigation bar at the bottom with a "Notes" button on it, you can click on the button to access the notes menu.

2. If your ePublication does not include the "Notes" button, you may access the notes menu by right-clicking anywhere on the ePublication to bring up a user menu then left-click on "Notes"

Whichever method you use, once you have accessed the "Notes" menu, click on "Add New Note". Your cursor will change to the notes icon, then click on the location in the ePublication where you want to place your note.

(Hint) Once you have added your note you may move it to another location on the same page by dragging it with your mouse to the desired location.

Once you have your note placed, click on the note icon to expand it for editing. Now you just type your note or comments in the box. By clicking on the "Options" button in this box you may customize your new note. Options include adding a subject & author, changing the icon, the text color and the note color.

When you have completed editing and customizing your note, click OK to close the options box then click on the red X at the top of the note to close it. To open the note again, simply double-click on it.

(Note) Your note automatically displays the date and time the note was created and edited in the Universal Time format.

More Notes Options
The following options can be accessed either by the "Notes" button or the right-click menu as discussed above.
  • Save All Notes
This saves all the notes that you've added and customized to the ePublication.

  • Export Notes To DNN File
This exports the notes from the ePublication as a DNN file. You can send this DNN file to another person with the same ePublication and they can import your notes into their copy of the ePublication.

  • Import Notes From DNN File
This imports notes from a DNN file into your ePublication and merges them with your existing notes. The DNN files must have come from a copy of the same ePublication as the one you are importing them in to.

  • Send Notes By Email
This sends the DNN note file as an email. Once you, or the person you sent it to has received the DNN file by email, just save it from the email to somewhere on your computer and then import it using the import function above. NOTE In order to use this feature you must have Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express installed on your computer>

  • Delete Notes On This Page
This deletes all note from the current page. You can also delete individual notes by right-clicking on the note and then delete.

(Note) A "Page" refers to a 2 page spread...left and right side of the visible page that's open in an ePublication.

  • Delete All Note In This Book
Deletes all notes from the ePublication.
