Printing an ePublication:
The Scoop on Printing ePublications
ePublications are designed to be viewed on a computer monitor. That said, it is possible to print the entire ePublication or just selected pages. You may also print pop-up images within the ePublication.
There are two methods in which the print option can be initiated. Both methods and their differences are as follows...
Printing via a Print Link
Some ePublications contain either a button or text link on the pages for printing. Clicking on the button or text link will open your printers properties menu where you can choose to print all or selected pages of your ePublication.
Printing via Right-Click Menu
Another option you have for printing is via the right-click menu within the ePublication. Right-click anywhere on a page and choose print from the menu given. A sub-menu will then appear giving you two more options. These two option are;
- Print Actual Size
With this option the ePublication will be printed to the same size as shown on the screen with no loss of resolution. In your printers properties menu you can choose to print all or selected pages of your ePublication. See Notes Below
- Print Full Size
With this option the ePublication will be printed to fill the size of your paper. By choosing this option you will lose resolution due to the contents being increased in size. In your printers properties menu you can choose to print all or selected pages of your ePublication. See Notes Below
Notes on Printing: If you are going to print an entire ePublication or just selected pages there are a few things to keep in mind.
1. Setting your printer to print in landscape mode will improve your printout, particularly when printing with the full size option.
2. If you print an ePublication that includes multimedia such as video there will be a blank space where the multimedia is positioned on the page when printed.
3. With some ePublications, colored borders around the pages may appear when printed. This is normal and is due to transparencies used within the ePublication for page shapes and such.
Printing Pop-Up Images
Some ePublications includes pop-ups of images. These are an enlarged version of the image shown on the page. These pop-up images may be printed in actual size by clicking on the printer icon located on the top right of the pop-up image.
